Your body uses silica to support many functions of your cells. DE aids the growth of many cells in your body, including those that build your joints, bones, hair, skin and nails. |
This e-book is a compilation of useful information regarding DE, its uses, different grades, what is safe for humans, and your pets, and practical ways of using it in your life. |
As for the health benefits of ingesting food grade DE, we rely mostly on the testimonials of people who take it as proof that it can benefit the body, but scientific research does suggest that DE can have tremendous benefits. |
If you're starting DE for the first time or haven't had any for a while, we recommend starting with a teaspoon 1-2 times a day. After about a week you can start to increase that up to a tablespoon a day if you wish. |

Another VERY important use of this product, food grade diatomaceous earth, is to mix in with your flour, cornmeal, wheat, etc. It is all natural, tasteless, and kills any bugs that dare try to get into your dry goods! It works by cutting the outer shell of the insect, so that it dies. We're talking microscopic type bugs, and larger, that can easily take up residence in your dry goods. I have used food grade diatomaceous earth in my dry goods for years. Just add a spoonful per small box or bag of rice, cornmeal, etc. Use more for larger containers.
I ordered a diatomaceous earth "duster" from Amazon to make it easier to dust my plants.
DE is also safe for use on pets for fleas! Start at their head, and work the DE earth down to the skin, being careful not to let your pet inhale the powder (as with any 'powder'). I prefer using DE for pets, rather than the harsh chemicals of flea powder..
I highly recommend this brand of Diatomaceous Earth, as it's reasonable in price, very clean, and does the job! And it's food grade!
So I have been hesitant on using it internally, scared to make myself sick or something. I am a student and have exams to focus on, so I need to be focus as much as I can.
But I have used this as a scrub on my left line as I showered. And it definitely helped get the scales off, the side I rubbed with DM and water. I have not yet determined if it’s stopped my itch. So far it seems to have stopped the side I scrubbed.
Does anyone know how eating this makes them feel? I’m scared to try it and get sick… in the bathroom if you know what I mean.
Update: it does work for pitted keratolysis, after a shower take a dust bath with your feet like the chinchilla you are. It might hurt for a second but its helps the itch.
